Estimator – Water Utilities

Location: Commutable distance from any either Stockport / Yorkshire / Leeds / Delamere / Deeside

Package: Up to £75,000 depending on experience + company vehicle, or £5,500 car allowance, annual bonus, pension, and private healthcare.

The Opportunity

One of our clients, perhaps the contractor of choice in the UK at the moment, are looking to recruit an estimator, specialising in water to work in conjunction with the main water utilities company in the North West.

Are you an estimator with water experience based within the North West of England? If so, we’d like to talk with you. Due to various office locations dotted across multiple locations, we are considering applicants from a commutable distance from the following locations: Stockport / Yorkshire / Leeds / Delamere / Deeside.

The Role

Roles + Responsibilities:

· Preparation of estimates from First Principles using Causeway Estimating software / and the Microsoft Office Suite.

· Evaluate bid specifications, drawings, and other project documents to develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements and identify potential risks or opportunities.

· Perform quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings to determine required quantities of materials, labour, and equipment.

· Collaborate with subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.

· Conduct cost analysis of alternative materials, methods, and design changes, providing recommendations to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards.

Working with the Head of Water, you’ll be the main estimator and, as such, can look forward to a variety of projects across water utilities in the North West of England. You will be working for a company that turns over hundreds of millions a year, employ thousands of staff and are only continuing to grow through a significant number of acquisitions so lots of career progression on offer.

Your Background

· Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.

· Experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a strong background in Water/ waste water being essential

· Knowledge of the NEC form of contract an advantage.

· Driving License
