This is a crucial role for a well funded rapid growth owner of FTTP and wireless networks in the UK.
They have an established wireless broadband solution but are looking to really expand the FTTP footprint and need to bring in a head of fibre planning and design to own this side of the business. FTTP background would be key and while any prior fixed wireless access network design would be good, this would certainly be something you would add to your skills once in the business so a good opportunity to add another form of design and delivery on top of the assumed fibre background.
The main function of the role will be the 3rd party management of the design houses that the company have engaged. They are UK based but the plan of action would be for the HOD to establish correct design principles and generally run a tight ship by way of standards and expectation.
We’ve got flexibility on location as projects will be nationwide and you’ll meet face to face when needed but can drive the function remotely for much of the time, which assuming time across the regions as part of pre-design sessions. This is rural build and a large chunk of what will be used will be via PIA, so you need to well versed in how things work on that front.
This is a great chance to be in the business from the early days. and play your part in what the delivery model looks like. The company are live with existing provision of broadband service via FWA wireless but the key is the bolster and probably replace when applicable with FTTP.
Maximise the benefit of Fibre to the Premise and Fixed Wireless Access technologies, so you’ll ensure a consistent approach in designing the network expansion plans. This will be core network, access planning and through to customer premises.
