HSEQ Manager – Telecoms / Utilities Network Build
Location: Liverpool with flexibility to work from home.
Package – £55 – 60,000 and private health
If you are a national level, health and safety professional who is from a infrastructure build and deployment background (Ideally telecoms / fibre or utilities) then this is a really interesting role that will allow you to own, and build the HSEQ function for a rapid growth builder of full fibre networks.
The role gives the chance to assess the existing health & safety model and then enhance the function to provide a world class safety culture across a business that has the pipeline of work and necessary funding to enter a period of significant growth through 2022 and beyond.
You’ll be responsible for the safety of all employees, contractors and customers and the aim of your group will be to make sure that services are provided on a first class basis, with efficiency and minimal risk and see that everyone that is touched by the business remains safe and well.
The health and safety knowledge and culture in the business is good, but now needs to be scaled which is why a HSEQ manager needs to be recruited to make sure the HSEQ function and processes can keep pace with the expected growth.
The main focus is network construction, and that is where your key strengths will lie, so you’ll build the function and a team of advisors that will be responsible for H&S across multiple locations in the UK but this role will very much be hands on in the early days and you’ll be someone who enjoys the challenge and variety of being into a business early and putting in place a strong process, methodology and reporting structure.
A senior level health and safety professional and known figure around the infrastructure build, telecoms, civils or utilities industries in the UK. Qualifications will likely be similar to CMIOSH or minimum NEBOSH diploma with significant, national level leadership experience within infrastructure.
We have some flexibility on the sector background but likely telecoms (Fixed or mobile), infrastructure build & delivery (Civils, Construction, Utilities) within a client / contractor / local authority regulated environment.
You’ll be a known name in the UK health and safety sector with a reputation to match and will be able to point to evidence of change, management & success across all aspects associated with the safety of those that are in and around the business. We are not looking for the traditional “There is only black and white when it comes to health and safety” style approach so your ability to communicate and engage with people at all levels will be crucial on this role and your group will operate in an advisory, supportive but decisive manner when needed.
Experience with CDM principles and a NRSWA delivery environment essential.
