Description
Fire & Rescue Inspector (part time)
Nationwide with regular travel to Folkestone, London and Paris
£52,344 – £61,521 (pro-rata) plus Civil Service benefits
You’ve served your time in fire safety, worked through the ranks to leadership and now you’re wondering – what next?
How about a prestigious role coordinating fire and rescue provision for an internationally critical piece of infrastructure – like the Channel Tunnel?
As Fire & Rescue Inspector you’d be leading safety inspections and assurance activities,
planning and delivering emergency test exercises, using your expertise to ensure procedures remain fit for purpose in light of technological and infrastructure advances and advising other groups on fire safety and emergency rescue matters.
A significant part of the Fire & Rescue Inspector position is coordinating and collaborating with your opposite number on the French side of the Channel Tunnel. You’ll work with Government departments, Eurostar and the emergency services too.
Given the nature of this role you will need experience in emergency planning, ideally fire-related, within confined spaces. You will need to undergo vetting to gain Security Check clearance so have to have been a UK resident for the past 5 years to be considered.
As the Channel Tunnel Fire & Rescue Inspector you’ll be working onsite in Folkestone but also attending meetings in London, Calais and Paris. Provided you’re happy to commute as required we are considering applications from all over the UK.
If the next stage in your career involves utilising your fire and rescue knowledge to lead the way on an international stage, all whilst enjoying a great work life balance, this is the job for you.
