Role: Telecoms Field Engineer (Data/Wi-Fi/Fibre Networks)

Location: Remote with regional coverage across the North West

Package: £30,000- £40,000 depending on experience, plus Van, Overtime, Bupa Health, Gym Membership, 26 days holidays

Opportunity:

This opportunity will see you joining an expanding, well-known internet service network provider. Our client currently provide WIFI / high speed connectivity solutions across MDU’s such as universities, student accommodations, businesses and multi-story apartment buildings in the UK and Europe.

They are looking to expand their Field Engineering team due to internal promotions into Project Management and also further contract wins, leading to investment in expanding the team. The company believe in internal promotions and looking after their teams and this is evident with the recent promotions and investment

This is remote position, so you will travel from home to site, but we are looking for regional candidates across the North West area so as to be able to work with the regional project managers. We will from time to time require travel outside the North West as business requirements dictate

Your main responsibility will be to work within your regional delivery team (Regional Manager and Project Managers) to attend all customer sites requiring site activations/provisions of IT/VOIP services, wireless surveys and technical and infrastructure fault calls.

You will be the eyes and ears for the delivery teams to ensure their customer requirements are met and put first

A typical day

  • Onsite proactive and reactive response to customer demands
  • Configuring, installing and replacing network equipment as a key part of customer managed service provision
  • Work closely with project delivery team to assist with the delivery of new site openings through the activation of our managed service provision to new and existing site premises
  • Conducting commissioning testing and production of associated reports.
  • Conducting and producing accurate WI-FI coverage test surveys and reports to company procedure
  • Assist in the management of service incidents and requests through on site diagnostics and 1st time fixes
  • Accurate and timely provision of documentation including Site Visit reports Management of van stock to ensure all customer re-visits are kept to a minimum

What we are looking for

  • Prior experience in configuring and troubleshooting networking equipment across either data networks, Wi-Fi, fibre or telecoms networks.
  • Must be in In possession of a relevant ECS or CSCS card
